No matter how large or small, leaving a legacy gift is a very special way to help your community at a grassroots level where there is much work to do and often limited resources. Legacy gifts ensure your stories, values, beliefs and passion for a cause lives on
Drug ARM is incredibly humbled to receive legacy gifts from those who care about the members of their community who are directly impacted by their own, or a loved ones, alcohol and other drug use.
We’ve been working to serve the community since 1849, ten years before the colony of Queensland became a self-governing state. The Society was established on the 8th of May and as such began the 174-year journey to our organisation as it operates today, supporting a holistic suite of programs and services that address alcohol and other drug harms at every level.
Our history also extends back to the origins of another pioneering health organisation, the Mental Health Federation of Queensland which was inaugurated in 1961. This organisation (as the Mental Health Association Qld) merged with Drug ARM in 2011 and continued to strengthen the mental health focus of the organisation that carries on in all of our programs and services today.
With more than 40 locations Drug ARM helps transform lives through our specialist services. With the help of over 400 volunteers annually, we’re able to achieve positive transformations for individuals, families and communities today and in to the future.
We’ve been operating for over 174 years, and will continue to serve the community as long as we can make a difference.
If you are considering leaving a gift in your Will and wish to discuss it we would love to hear from you. Please be assured all our discussions are held in confidence. Our Relationships Manager Alex Davis can be contacted on 3620 8880 or via email.
If you choose not to tell us, please know you have made a tremendous impact by allowing Drug ARM to continue its awareness, rehabilitation and management work to address the social issue of alcohol and other drugs.

Drug ARM’s promise to you:
Gifts in Will are invested in a legacy fund called ARMed for Life. Drug ARM created this fund so that the generous gifts in Will could be applied to long term community projects such as our Street Outreach Services, counselling and awareness programs. The ARMed for Life fund ensures that your legacy gift will continue to help the community for future generations.
How does it work?
These funds are applied to prudent, diversified investments such as bonds, stocks or term deposits to generate ongoing returns that fund crucial, long-term community projects. The ARMed for Life Legacy Fund operates within a stringent ethical framework and does not invest in companies involved in products or services that do not align with our charitable purpose (for example liquor, tobacco or gambling).
We bring compassionate people together to change lives.
